I am a self-taught artist and have been painting, sculpting, forming, and experimenting for many years.

Originally, I graduated from the Humboldt-University in Berlin with a Ph.D. in Science. I worked for many years in research and developing work in different countries. But when my 3 children came along and whilst moving from country to country as a requirement for my husband’s job, I had to search for new challenges in life.

I have always been a lover of the arts and I’ve been lucky enough to draw inspiration from everywhere I’ve lived: Germany, South Africa, Switzerland, USA, UK, and Denmark. I worked in different pottery studios and sculptors workshops in Switzerland and Denmark.

I love to create. I enjoy experimenting with different materials and combining them. I draw a lot of inspiration from observing nature. I am continuously learning and experimenting with new techniques. At the moment my preferred medium is alcohol ink. Living so close to the sea inspired me to draw lots of beautiful sea creatures. Drawing with alcohol ink gives a result that you can’t fully predict when you start. If the same process is repeated over and over again, the result will always look different. I love the brilliant, radiant colours and to watch the inks flow, mix, and form shapes.
